I have been slacking or just plain not blogging at all lately (or for a whole year). We have been so busy and having so much fun that I just haven't been able to keep up. BUT we had something pretty exciting happen at our house today. Kaden went to his first day of preschool. Hooray!!! He is so excited and I am so excited for him. We got very cute and day appropriate pictures of Kaden that we wanted to share with everyone. Also our little Elsie is all grown up and as cute as ever. I've included some pictures of our summer fun. We went to Disneyland, Yellowstone, and colored with sidewalk chalk and played in the water almost everyday. Don't ya just love summer. It's been a great one but we are so excited for the new changes to our schedule and hopefully cooler temperatures.

She was born on June 25th at 12:35. She weighted 5 pounds 14 ounces. She is the cutest and the best baby ever. She has melted all of our hearts and we love her. Kaden is a great big brother and so helpful. We're adjusting, hence why it took me so long to post a picture. I don't know how you have more then 2 kids between feeding, changing diapers, and cleaning marker off my couch, there isn't time for blogging but I will try to be better!!!!!

Life

So it has been forever, but when I am pregnant life seems to stop for us at our house. BUT I have felt so much better this pregnancy, then compared to Kadens, so we have stayed really busy too. Here are just some photos of what we have been up too. In November we went to San Diego California and went to the beach and Sea World. Christmas in December was so much fun. Kaden loved every minute of the festivities. His favorite toy, a styrofoam sword (how does that compare to a power wheels John Deere Tractor, I'll never know). In March Randon's brother Tim got married and Kaden enjoyed all the time he had with his cousins. Anyway I know there is lots more I should post but I have to run. Maybe I'll post again before this baby comes but don't count on it.

Crazy Days

Boy time is flying by at our house. Kaden is now 2 1/2 and is keeping us busy and laughing. He's so smart and fun. He's talking a lot, there's not much he doesn't say. He is way into fire fighters and fire trucks lately. So one day we decided to make a fire truck or a fire fighter truck as Kaden would say, out of a card board box. When his dad got home he enticed him to get inside with him. Oh Kaden boy! The shoe on his foot is a porclain witch shoe. It is a Halloween decoration and while we were decorating for Halloween (speaking of Halloween decorations check out live-livesimple.blogspot.com) I could hear a clunk, clunk go across the tile in the kitchen. I wondered to myself what it was and then Kaden walked around the corner and answered my question. He was wearing this shoe I had to laugh, pretty clever huh. He also put on the feather boa but it was itching and bothering him by the time I took the picture. These moments are what makes being a stay at home mom worth it. You know at times its tough. I wonder a lot if by the time my kids leave home if I'll be insane and them as well? But you know being home with Kaden has given us a connection for life. I will have another forever friend. He is so good to me and forgiving when I lose my paitents. I know he can't read this but I appreciate all he does for me. I always thought that being a mom would be fulfilling and because of that life would be easier, but I was wrong. It is so fulfilling and challenging. I'm learning so much about myself and growing in ways I never thought about. Life definitely isn't eaiser but it is happier. So maybe when you're busy with the right things, even though they're sometimes hard, you can find more fulfillment and happiness then you thought. So here's to all us mom. Keep up the good work and enjoy all the little things that make you giggle, there worth more then anything is this world and will probably be what keeps us all sane.

Look What We Grew

So all of our plants on top of the ground have pretty much died. We have one tomato plant, a squash plant, and a pepper plant left. So today when we dug up some potatoes for sunday dinner I thought there would be none but look what we found we actually grew potatoes and they are huge. Don't you just love surprises and my dad will be on pround of us.

We got a new car!! We weren't planning on buying a new car but we got such a good deal we couldn' t pass it up. So we must be doing something right because we bought the car and sold our other car the next day. How's that for easy.

A weekend of Favorites

A couple of weekends ago we got to spend it with some our favorite people. Kelsey and Brian, our cousins on Randon's side and Randon's little sister Kaylee came down and stayed with us.

We took them hiking, we went to Kannaraville falls our favorite hike, it was awesome as always so much to see and do. We even took Kaden and he did great. He really liked it and now he alwasys says that he wants to go climb the mountain. We went to 2000 flushes as well and the story behind it is that they were mining and the mine filled up with water so if it's true it would have no bottom to this lake. I don't know if it's true or not. But we had tons of fun.

There's No Place Like Lake Powell

We love Lake Powell and finally made it this year, it has been a couple years since we have gone. It was so much fun and Kaden thought it was the greatest place he had ever been. He love the swimming, riding in the boat, the fishing, and he even went off the Madsen's slide a couple times. Randon and Stockton's birthdays were while we were down there so we had a surprise birthday party for them and boy were they surprised or at least Randon was. The cousins wrote happy birthday across their backs and when Randon pulled up then turned around and some of them mooned him, if you know Randon it meant a lot to him. We had a blast and we were so sad to leave. Thanks to all the family that went we had a great time. It's just not a trip to Lake Powell with out the Dyrengs- Thanks so much.

Kittens

So you know how we got a cat, well now we have 4 cats. We came home from the 4th of July and our cat had had kittens in our house!! Yes our house, she is not a house cat and she must have known her kittens were coming and find a good hiding place in the house before we left for the weekend. We couldn't find her when we left so we assumed she was out in the fields or somewhere else, oh no she was under Kaden's bed. When we got home at 1:00 in the morning, 3 days later, I laid Kaden down in his bed and heard purring. I freaked out and looked under the bed and sure enough there was our cat and 3 kittens. So if anyone wants a kitty we've got one for ya. I have to admit they are stinkin cute and Kaden has had so much fun with them. Oh the adventures of owning a cat.

I need help with Kaden. He's not gaining weight and every day seems to feel worse and worse. I know as his mom that it's food allergies, I know milk is an allergy but I also think it's wheat but I don't know what to feed him. I'm desperate for some help. I need a good doctor and a dietian to help me. So any suggests would be so appreciated.

Water all weekend long

Kaden loves the water and seems how it was so hot this weekend we took advantage of playing in the water. We went to St. George and went to the city water park. The kids loved it April, Anthony, and Gibson came and stayed with us. Then we set up the pool in the backyard. What a great way to cool off and oh the fun memories.

We went to the Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy along time ago and these are some of the pictures. Kaden and I got to go with both the Johnson's and the Dyreng's. So much fun considering how much Kaden and his Dad love fish. If you haven't gone it's worth it, but go on a week day if possible not so busy.

Kaden's Baby Chicks

Randon brought home some baby chicks from work a week or two ago and Kaden fell in love. He played with them for hours. He loved to have them follow him and climb up on him. They would follow him so close to his feet that he would accidentally kick them. He would laugh and laugh. Then one died - devastating. We had a funeral out back for his baby chick. Now the other one is at Grandma Johnson's house living in the chicken coop. We miss you baby chick, well at least Kaden does.

Happy Anniversary

Randon and I have been married for 5 years! We made it, and you know over the years it has just gotten better and better. We've had our ups and downs, mostly ups and made some awesome memories. So I thought I'd share 5 of my most favorite memories, up until now, with you for the five wonderful years we have been married. It was hard to choose because I have so many memories that I like to recall but these are the ones I did. And you know I'm looking forward to the memories that are to come, no matter what they may be or where life takes us I know they're going to be great. I love ya lots honey. For Randon's birthday last year we got to go to the Tim McGraw concert, thank you Amber, and it was the best birthday present a country boy could get. He was so excited, when he finally found out where we were going, I actually kept it a secret. He loved every minute of the concert and he couldn't stop smiling. Tim McGraw songs have lots of memories for us, country swing on wednesday nights. Riding around in the old Rodeo. Having karaoke fests on the long trips home and Randon always sings in the shower and it's usually a Tim McGraw song.

Everyday with Randon is an adventure. We have done so many fun things. 3 summers ago we spent a lot of time hiking the Kannaraville falls. We'd take anybody with us that would come. It was our favorite place. Randon can usually always be found outside doing something. He never sits around. He's a hard worker and player. Thanks for all the crazy dirt road adventures that lead to who knows where. The camping trips with all the scary stories. The rocks I've got to collect. The sunburns at Lake Powell. The special feeling I have when I revisit a place that you and I have had a blast.

I find it hard in my marriage not to smile. My husband knows how to make you laugh. He loves life and everyone in his life. He's my little ray of sunshine. He keeps our family smiling and laughing even though some days there hasn't been to much to smile about. :)

When our son Kaden was born is also a wonderful yet life changing memory for us. Randon is the greatest dad, Kaden couldn't ask for a better one. I love the man he turned into when he became a dad.

I have so many fun memories of playing and being in the snow with Randon. We like to snowboard, sled, and build snowmen together. I love the snow and I remember lots of nights laying in bed together watching it snow. You know when the sky looks all peachy and gray as the snowflakes dance around in the colors. Yeah that's my favorite kind of night and add Randon to that and it can' t get any better.

Saturday Adventure

This waterfall is up one of the canyons by Kannaraville south of Cedar City. We went there the other day and found that while it has been cold the waterfall has been making this cool ice sculpture.

The Closest Thing to the Beach

We went to the sand dunes while my mom and dad were in town and we had so much fun. The kids were loving every minute of it. The boys Brayden, Austin, Chase, and Kyler each were buried in the sand at one point. The babies, Kaden and Gibson were swimming in it. Kaden would get to the top and slide all the way down. Next time he'd roll down. The next time he'd go head first down. He loved. When he'd go down on his bottom he'd leave trails and that's what we rolled the Easter eggs down. We had Easter early with the Johnsons before we went back to Colorado. Thanks Johnsons for all the fun times. Happy early Easter everyone.

The One and Only

Kadens one and only Frog. This little stuffed frog is Kaden's new favorite thing. He takes it every where we go. It's a bag or a basket or something April says we should call it a brog because it's a frog and a bag. Anyway it has a little strap on it so he hooks it on his arm and away he goes, as you can see in the pictures. Last night I was trying to get him to bed and he didn't want to get his p.j.s on he just wanted his frog. It sleeps with him in bed, it eats with him, it goes all over town with us, last week we even took it to church. Seeing him and that frog hung over his elbow, I can't help but smile and laugh. We Love ya Kaders.

Weekend Adventures

This last saturday we went out to the Parowan Gap and also to a park looking for wild Turkeys. Kaden was sure he was going to get one with his gun.

We didn't see any turkeys at the park but the pond was full of fish and Kaden was fascinated with them. They would swim in and out of the plants and he thought that it was a great game of hide and seek.

On sunday we went to Grandma Judy's to see her new puppy, Peanut and Kaden feel in love. He had to be by Peanut the whole time. He laughed and played with Peanut and forgot all about his cat at home, I'm sure.

When Kaden got home the cat kept hissing at him and I couldn't figure out why because she has never done that to any of us and then I realized that Kaden probably smelled like the little puppy and the cat didn't know what to think or didn't like her Kaden smelling like a puppy.

Yes a Dyreng with a live cat. Can you believe it. Randon will be so mad that I posted it for all to see, but the pictures are so cute and Kaden is in love with this cat, I think Randon likes her too. She wandered into our car one night while I was at Randon's work, rode home with us, and so we decided to keep her. I said she wouldn't be allowed in the house, but as you can see she just makes Kaden's day, so she comes in and spends some time with us everyday!! I am just as shocked as you are.

Baby it's cold outside

Kaden loves to play outside in the snow, but he doesn't like being cold. Wouldn't it be nice if it snowed warm snow every once in a while. We had a lot of fun playing and marching in the snow. Kids are great because you get to be a kid again when you spend time with them. Thanks Kaden for playing with mommy in the snow that day I needed it.

We had a holly jolly Christmas

Christmas was great this year, as always, but when you have a child all the magic comes back. Kaden learned a new word around Christmas this year, It was gun. You would ask him what he

wanted for Christmas and he would say gun. I don't know where he learned the word I have decided it's in his blood. Luckily he was good this year and Santa brought him a gun. He opened it and was so excited he packed it around all day. He even pushed it in the stroller. We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and happy holidays a little late from the Dyrengs.

The Month of December

The month of december was crazy for us. Right after I posted my last pictures, I got so sick and ended up in the hospital with pneumonia and a urinary tract infection. It was crazy!! Then we had Christmas, then Randon's Grandpa James pasted away, and then my Uncle John pasted away. SO it has been one of those months.

I love CHRISTMAS!! The Holidays have started out great and I know it will continue. I have had so much fun putting up the tree and all the decorations with Kaden. Christmas really is magic. We went and looked at Christmas lights last night. Kaden loved every minute of it and pointed at every house. Tonight we made cookies for Family Home Evening. Kaden had a great time as you can see. He was the taste tester and he approved, his face is evidence of that. It also snowed and is snowing right now we have been watching the flakes fall for mom and dad bedroom window. I love it so let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. To night was so merry and bright. Merry Christmas

Dads are Novelties, Moms are Necessities

I am so grateful for dads! No one makes my little boys face light up quite like his daddy. Moms are definitely needed and Kaden couldn't go with out his because I offer the basics, but dad, he make everything worth it. He makes Kaden laugh and smile. He teaches him fun things and spends lots of time just being together. Dads don't seem to go crazy quite like moms do. Dad can pull an all nighter and be bright and smiley in the morning, but for this mom it's a different story all nighters and I don't mix. Thank goodness for Randon and the sanity he brings to our home. Thank goodness for Dads!!

We are Randon, Jacie, and Kaden Dyreng. We live in Cedar City and love it. We just bought a house and are staying happily busy, some times to busy. Randon works at Three Peaks Elementary as a custodian. I'm a stay at home mom and Kaden does a great job at being our first little boy. We love spending time adventuring and being together.
