HELP

I need help with Kaden. He's not gaining weight and every day seems to feel worse and worse. I know as his mom that it's food allergies, I know milk is an allergy but I also think it's wheat but I don't know what to feed him. I'm desperate for some help. I need a good doctor and a dietian to help me. So any suggests would be so appreciated.

Hey, that is not fun! i know SO many people who have just discovered wheat allergies. Have you talked to his pediatrician about this? there are alot of Dr's who dont know what to do with Wheat allergies just because it means such a huge life/diet change and it is somewhat of a newly recognized thing. i know there is a dietician at the hospital there in Cedar, i'm not sure how easy she would be to get into, also you could go to the college. Artis Grady and Matt Schmidt are both Dieticians and could at least hook you up with some help. They are both awesome people, they taught me everything i know. :) they are in the Family and Consumer Sciences building on the East side of campus (i think, its been a few years since i was there). also there is a lady i know from Wayne County who is an EXPERT on Wheat allergies and i Know you could call her for diet suggestions to start now while you are trying to figure it all out for sure. Her name is Mary Sorenson and her number is 435-836-2658 also my aunt is seeing a specialist in St. George for wheat allergies his name is Dr. Bound. definitely try to get him into a pediatrician and ask for a blood test and then maybe a referral to this Dr. i know that once you get his body regulated and under control again then you might be able to reintroduce wheat into his diet. Hopefully some of this helped, i wish i would have kept up on all of this so i could help more but maybe these people can get you pointed in the right direction. let me know if you need anymore info! hopefully he gets feeling better and you can get his little body back on track!

I forgot to tell you. One thing we did with porter is log everything that he ate, and what happened. If I gave him a fruit snack I wrote the date time and if anything happened I wrote it down. I have a notebook of porter when we were having some of our problems. Finding the milk allergy has helped it hasn't made it any easier it has just helped us know what not to feed him. I love you guys and will do anything to help

Jacie,
Hey this is kallie dalley I hope you don't care that I peeked at your blog. I'm sorry to hear about Kaden. I'm sure that is so hard. Brian's sister Jaylene is a dietician down in St. George. She also comes up here to the hospital once in a while. She works with young kids who have diabetes. She might be good to talk to or she might know of a good doctor and pediatrician down there or here in Cedar you could take him to. If you want me to ask her about it I could. I'm sure she would do what she could to help. If you want me to send me an e-mail at Kalliedalley@gmail.com. I hope things get better :)
